The key themes in my work revolve around the human figure and the geometry of architectural and other made forms. Sometimes the two threads converge. I am also fascinated by archetypal themes and forms. The spiritual and the mythological often indirectly find their way into my final images. Working in a range of media, from acrylic and oils to graphite and printmaking; texture and markmaking always play a key role.
I have also been developing ideas based on regular visits to Ireland, my father's birthplace, where I still have close family ties. This has resulted in drawings, paintings and prints exploring the haunting remains of an older Ireland still visible in the disused buildings which are scattered though the landscape and towns.
