My work is chiefly figurative and ranges from small drawings and etchings to large scale canvases using oil and mixed media. 

In my studies of figures, architecture and landscape, texture has always played an important role.  I am fascinated by the richness of markmaking which can be achieved in the various media I use: the eroding effects of nitric acid when etching steel plates for printing; the cracks in thick paint on canvas; tiny random marks created by sharp pencil on paper.
